The following videos are part of Guiding with Confidence, a series created by the Northwest Association for Blind Athletes (NWABA) for and in collaboration with the blind and low vision community. These resources provide practical guidance for educators, school staff, peers, and community members on how to serve as an effective human (sometimes called “sighted”) guide.
The focus is on clear communication, consent, respectful movement, and supporting autonomy and independence in real-world settings, including schools. These videos complement, but do not replace, formal instruction from Teachers of the Blind and Low Vision (TBLVs) Orientation & Mobility (O&M) specialists.
