Equipment Returns

Equipment Returns and Inventory for School-Aged Staff

All AT/AAC equipment must be returned by your last work day in June before summer break. When students with CRP equipment checked out in your name are transitioning or changing districts, please return the equipment to CRP. If you are changing caseloads or jobs, return all CRP equipment before then change occurs. If you know who is talking over part or all of your caseload, let us know. We may be able to transfer equipment to the other service provider if they provide their consent, preferably via email.

Motor equipment must be returned at the end of the school year if they are transitioning, exiting services, moving, etc. All unreturned motor equipment must be inventoried using your online equipment list where you can request transfer of equipment to a different student and/or service provider.

Equipment Returns and Inventory for EI/ECSE Staff

AT/AAC Equipment Checked out to Children with a HOME PLACEMENT: All AT/AAC equipment must be brought into CRIS no later than the last day before summer break. We must inventory, renew and check items for safety and operation. Per your request, we can store group and store items and check them back out to you following the break.

AT/AAC Equipment Checked out to Children with a CLASSROOM PLACEMENT: All AT/AAC equipment must be brought to CRIS no later than your last contract day in June. The equipment will be inventoried, renewed, and checked for safety and operation. Per your request, we will hold the equipment so that it can be checked back out for individual children in August.

Motor Equipment: Return motor equipment before your last workday in June for and student who:

  • Has moved out of your district
  • Is transitioning from Early Intervention (EI) to Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE)
  • Is transitioning from Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE) to kindergarten (school-aged)
  • Is no longer using the equipment; no longer meets student needs
  • Is using equipment that is broken and not functioning (we will attempt repairs)

PLEASE DO NOT SEND/FORWARD MOTOR EQUIPMENT TO THE CHILD’S NEXT PLACEMENT unless specific arrangements have been made with the Equipment Center staff.

Motor equipment may remain with the child if the child is not transitioning or changing placement. However, it must be inventoried via the online student inventory process. All motor items NOT being returned at the end of the school year must be inventoried (accounted for) before leaving on summer break.

Please note: Responsible parties will not be able to check out additional equipment until the returns and inventory process has been completed as specified.
