Dr. Lisa McConachie, Director
Dr. McConachie is passionate about improving the lives of people with disabilities, particularly those who are Blind, Low Vision, Deaf or Hard of Hearing, or DeafBlind. With years of experience in both education and advocacy, she has dedicated her career to ensuring that individuals with complex sensory needs have the resources, support, and opportunities to thrive.
Throughout her career, Dr. McConachie has worked closely with families, educators, and service providers to develop practical solutions and strategies for teaching and supporting people with sensory differences. She's especially focused on finding ways to make communication, mobility, and independence more accessible for those with dual sensory impairments.
Dr. McConachie has also been an advocate for better resources and training for professionals who work with DeafBlind individuals, ensuring they have the tools they need to provide meaningful education and support. She believes that every person, regardless of their abilities, deserves the chance to fully participate in their community and lead a fulfilling life.
Her work continues to inspire change and bring greater awareness to the unique challenges faced by those who are DeafBlind, while also highlighting the strengths and resilience of these individuals. Through her efforts, Dr. McConachie is helping to create a more inclusive world for all individuals with disabilities.

Ms. Daniels is a compassionate and experienced teacher who has spent many years working with students who are DeafBlind and blind and low vision. With a deep commitment to creating inclusive and supportive learning environments, Ms. Daniels has made it her mission to help every student reach their full potential, regardless of the challenges they may face.Throughout her career, she has worked closely with families, caregivers, and fellow educators to develop individualized education plans that meet the unique needs of each student. She has a special talent for adapting teaching methods to help students with vision and hearing differences communicate, learn, and thrive in both the classroom and wider community.
Ms. Daniels is known for her patient and innovative approach to teaching, using a variety of tools and techniques - ranging from tactile communication strategies to assistive technology - to support her students' learning. Her hands-on experience has allowed her to become a key advocate for increased awareness and improved services for students who are Blind, Low Vision, Hard of Hearing, or DeafBlind.
In addition to her work as an educator, Ms. Daniels is passionate about training and mentoring other teachers, sharing her knowledge and insights to ensure that more professionals are equipped to work effectively with students who have complex sensory needs. Through her unwavering dedication, she continues to inspire and empower students, families, and colleagues in the journey toward a more inclusive and accessible education for all.
